Dusk Network is a decentralized blockchain protocol that provides private and transparent solutions for payments, communications and asset ownership transfers. It is different from consensus mechanisms such as PoW/PoS, and introduces a new privacy-oriented consensus mechanism - Byzantine Agreement (SBA). Dusk is a new blockchain that provides true privacy and a fast and secure streaming mechanism - Secure Tunnel Switching (STS).
DUSK tokens are used for staking and participation in consensus.
Additionally, DUSK tokens are used to pay for transactions, deploy dApps and gas. Tokens also serve as rewards for consensus participants.
DUSK can be exchanged for XSC-based tokens one-way and through atomic swaps.
Once issued, the DUSK token will be used for on-chain governance within XSC.
In Dusk Network, block rewards are paid through the emission of DUSK defined in the protocol. The majority of all newly issued DUSK will be rewarded to consensus participants, while a small portion will be allocated to the Technology Development Fund, creating an autonomous funding mechanism for long-term research and development.
Dusk Network bills itself as a privacy blockchain for financial applications. It is a layer 1 blockchain that powers the Confidential Security Contracts (XSC) standard and supports confidential smart contracts. Dusk Network is designed to meet the needs of the financial market. Therefore, at the core of its design is a scalable public infrastructure, direct settlement certainty for transactions, and strict data confidentiality.
By using a new transaction model called Phoenix, Dusk Network is committed to bringing privacy and anonymity to transactions as well as smart contracts. Additionally, tokens deployed on Dusk Network can be built on top of Zedger, a Phoenix-based hybrid privacy-preserving model developed specifically for security tokens.
Securing the network under the "Apartheid Byzantine Agreement" (SBA) consensus mechanism. According to the Dusk Network team, SBA is an improvement over underlying Proof-of-Stake (PoS) mechanisms, as it combines existing features such as "cryptographic sorting (lottery tickets), stealthy time-locked transactions (hidden stake amounts), and reputation." idea. modules to increase the chances of selecting honest nodes and further facilitate decentralization".
The DUSK token can be used as a utility token to initiate transactions, atomic swaps, or deploy smart contracts. DUSK can also be staked to participate in consensus, and As a means of exchanging DUSK-denominated value. In the future, the team intends to expand the use cases of DUSK by adding it to the on-chain governance system.
What is Dusk Network (DUSK)?
Dusk Network is a privacy-oriented blockchain protocol with isolated Byzantine agreement that provides privacy, programmability and contract auditability. Dusk is a team of entrepreneurs, engineers and researchers with technical experience in Amazon, TomTom, Mozilla, Reaktor and blockchain background (Zcash, Zion City, NEO Research, etc.). Dusk Network, currently in testnet stage, aims to be a blockchain protocol designed to easily deploy programmable zero-knowledge dApps, thereby serving as the backbone of an open, permissionless, and global privacy-oriented dApp ecosystem. The project aims to remove technical barriers that prevent mainstream issuance and trading of products such as security tokens. Compliance, auditability, and privacy are built into the open, permissionless Confidential Security Token Standard (“XSC”).
Some of its key elements include:
From August 2018 to November 2018, approximately $8.08MM was raised through private token sales.
Private Proof of Stake implementation, enabling Block Generators to be staked anonymously.
Leverage ZeroCaf for fast, efficient and bulletproof elliptic curve manipulation.
Built by a team of entrepreneurs, engineers and researchers from different backgrounds (Amazon, TomTom, Mozilla, ZCash, Zion City, Neo Research, etc.).
Its core features are:
Dusk Network is designed to enable on-chain privacy and programmability while maintaining high throughput and the certainty of instant transactions. The Dusk Network is built on the following key innovations:
Some of its key features include:
Private Proof of Stake: Dusk Network's consensus protocol, Segregated Byzantine Agreement ("SBA") is powered by "Proof of Blind Bidding" , a protocol that enables Block Generators to stake anonymously.
Decentralization: Encourages smaller participants to participate in consensus by removing the incentive for resource centralization from the stake pool.
Substitution: Consensus participants are selected pseudo-randomly and independently of earlier outcomes.
For this, Dusk relies on a few core features:
Consensus is reached in three phases: block generation, block reduction, and block agreement.
ZeroCaf enables fast, efficient and bulletproof elliptic curve manipulation. ZeroCaf is an elliptic curve developed on Ristretto scalar fields.
Implementation of zero-knowledge friendly hashing algorithm Poseidon.
Browser Node for Zero-Knowledge Verification and Zero-Knowledge Virtual Machine Architecture.
Completion of instant transactions: Due to the properties of Dusk Network, the transactions of the consensus protocol are completed immediately after the block is completed, except for the negligible fork probability.
