NNS (NEO Name Service) is Neo's domain name service, a distributed, open source and scalable domain name system based on the Neo blockchain. It aims to replace irregular character strings that are difficult for humans to remember, such as wallet addresses and smart contract hashes, with word phrase abbreviations, etc. We started by offering domain names ending in ".neo".
Through the domain name service, people no longer need to memorize unintelligible addresses and hashes, as long as they know a word or a phrase, they can transfer money and call contracts. NNS can resolve domain names to various targets. The easiest one to think of is Neo’s account (Address), or smart contract address (ScriptHash). We reserve enough scalability to support more parsing target protocols without updating the contract.
NNC (NEO Name Credit) is a token issued by Neo's domain name system NNS. Currently, holding NNC can obtain dividends from domain name auction fees, and can also be used as a payment token to purchase domain names in the secondary market.
In the future, the application scenarios of NNC will continue to expand, such as being applied to other Dapps, relying on a variety of Dapps to form a DAO, avoiding the risk of a single application, and making the value of NNC more stable.
