Raptoreum (RTM) is a POS/POW hybrid blockchain. Its goal is to solve the problem of fast payment and very low transaction fees and immunity to 51% double-spend attacks, so as to help promote positive global changes in the blockchain. The open-source project also aims to provide an asset platform that allows tokenization while also allowing DAPPs to work with smart contracts stored and executed at the smart node level.

RTM coins use a custom hashing algorithm called Ghostrider. Ghostrider randomly switches algorithms with the aim of preventing large-scale ASIC and FPGA mining, which the project says is to increase overall decentralization.
